'''Cornimer''' is a [[tortoise]] who appears in {{WW}}, {{NLWa}}, and {{NH}}. In {{WW|short|nolink}}, Cornimer is a holiday-specific visitor in [[town]] and will exchange items for [[acorn]]s. In {{NLWa|short|nolink}}, he appears only in ''[[Animal Crossing Puzzle League]]'' as the final boss. In {{NH|short|nolink}}, Cornimer serves the same functions as Tortimer, providing the [[player]] access to their [[storage]], but only appears during [[fall]] and will give the player {{I|acorn|NH}}s when talked to.

It is implied that Cornimer and [[Tortimer]] are the same character. Cornimer's name is likely a portmanteau of "acorn" and "Tortimer."

Cornimer is identical in appearance to Tortimer, but his head is replaced with an acorn head that has two long oval eyes, a triangular nose, and a toothy mouth carved into it. In {{WW|nolink}}, his mouth is shaped into a smile, but in later games, his mouth is flatter, assuming a neutral expression.

===Personality===
Cornimer is presumed to have the same personality as Tortimer, as they both are also presumed to be the same person.

In {{WW}}, Cornimer appears only during the [[Acorn Festival]] and gives the player items from the [[Mush Series|Mushroom Series]] in exchange for acorns, which are found under oak [[tree]]s during the festival. However, if the player gives him a rotten acorn, he will say that all the other acorns the player gave him that time do not count. Much like Tortimer telling the player's fortune by using [[Fireworks Show|fireworks]], he can tell the player's fortune by using acorns.

It is heavily implied that Cornimer is Tortimer in disguise. In addition to their similar appearance and names, during the Acorn Festival, Tortimer is not behind the desk in the [[town hall]]. Additionally, the first time Cornimer laughs in his dialogue toward the player, he says, "Hef horf horf... Wait no! Good luck lil' Oakie!", with "hef horf horf" being Tortimer's laugh.

The roving machine that is whacked by players during the [[Hammer Time]] [[tour]] appears to be Cornimer's head on top of a lawnmower.

Cornimer himself returns in the {{NLWa|short}} update for {{NL}}, where he appears as the final boss in the story mode of ''Animal Crossing Puzzle League''. The character is once again strongly implied to be Tortimer in disguise, as Cornimer wears the same red aloha shirt and uses similar language to Tortimer. Unlike previous stages, there is only a single round versus Cornimer but the difficulty is significantly raised. After being defeated he will initially throw a tantrum, but then acknowledge the player's victory and congratulate them.

Although initially absent in {{NH}}, Cornimer was added in version {{NHVer|2.0}}. Cornimer will appear in place of Tortimer on [[Harv's Island]] during the fall season. If the player talks to him once each day, he will ask to give them acorns. If they say yes, he will give them a random amount of acorns. Afterward, he works the same as Tortimer, letting the player access their [[storage unit|storage]].
