'''Gorillas''' are a species of [[villager]] in the {{SER}}. They are mainly differentiated from monkeys by their large, tailless bodies, in addition to having separately rendered jaws, a prominent brow, hands shaped like boxing gloves, buttocks (except for [[Hans]] and [[Rocket]]), and human-like ears. In the real world, gorillas are the largest {{Wp|primate}} and the third-closest DNA match to {{Wp|human}}s after the two species of chimpanzee.

There are twelve gorilla villagers, one of which is an [[islander]], and one of which was previously an islander. Eight are male and four are female, making it a predominantly male species. Of these, three are [[cranky]], two are [[lazy]], two are [[jock]]s, two are [[snooty]], one is [[peppy]], one is  [[smug]], and one is [[big sister]]. One of the snooty gorillas, [[Violet]], had a peppy personality prior to {{CF}}. There are currently no [[normal]] gorillas.

[[Jane]] and [[Yodel]] are the only gorillas who have not reappeared since {{DnMe+}}. Violet is also absent from {{PC}}. [[Rilla]] was initially absent in {{NH}}, but she reappeared in the [[Animal Crossing: New Horizons/Update history/1.9.0|1.9.0 Free Update]]. In {{NH|short|nolink}}, every gorilla except Rilla has the fitness [[hobby]].
