In {{DnM+}}, [[Tortimer]] appears near the [[wishing well|shrine]] on Tanabata and will give the player a {{I|tanabata palm|Animal Crossing}} if spoken to. In {{PG}}, this item is instead obtained from [[Crazy Redd's]].

While the event itself does not appear in {{DnMe+}}, [[Mom]] sends the player a letter mentioning the event on July 7.

Although the event does not formally occur in {{NH}}, it is celebrated throughout the month of July with {{I|bamboo grass|New Horizons}} that can be purchased from the [[Nook Shopping]] service. Additionally, the related '''Cowherd & Weaving Girl Day''' (otherwise known as the '''Qixi Festival''', the Chinese holiday from which Tanabata is derived) is celebrated throughout August with the {{I|Hikoboshi outfit|New Horizons}} and the {{I|Orihime outfit|New Horizons}}, which can also be purchased through Nook Shopping. Unlike in {{NL|short|nolink}}, these items are available worldwide.
