The lighthouse is a landmark that is found in the player's town in PG, , and CF. In the former, the lighthouse is found near the ocean and turns on when it starts to become dark. Once a year, the mayor will ask the player to turn it on every night for seven nights, or one week. This is the only time the inside of the lighthouse can be seen. If the player turns the light on each day, Tortimer will reward the player.

In CF, the lighthouse is obtained through donations to the town fund. Once the fountain is obtained and an additional 100,000 Bells are donated, either a lighthouse or windmill will be built. All of the players in the town can vote, with the majority winning. The lighthouse increases the likelihood of a rare fish appearing.

Appearances[edit]

In Animal Crossing[edit]

Main article: Tortimer's Lighthouse Request
The lighthouse in Animal Crossing

In Animal Crossing, the lighthouse appears from the start. Each January or February, Tortimer approaches the player with a request to enter the lighthouse and turn on the light each night for a week. This is the only time the lighthouse can be entered. If the player turns on the light each night, Tortimer rewards them with either the lighthouse model or chocolates.

In City Folk[edit]

In Animal Crossing: City Folk, the lighthouse can be built through the town fund after 1,000,000 Bells are donated. Unlike in Animal Crossing, the lighthouse is purely decorative.

In New Leaf[edit]

The lighthouse in Animal Crossing: New Leaf

In Animal Crossing: New Leaf, the lighthouse can be built as a public works project for 372,000 Bells. Only one lighthouse can be built per town. Like in City Folk, the lighthouse is purely decorative.

In Pocket Camp[edit]

The lighthouse in Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp

In Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp, the lighthouse appears on the east side of Saltwater Shores.

Trivia[edit]

 • There is a glitch in Animal Crossing: City Folk during online multiplayer that allows the player to get on top of the lighthouse by running into one of the bottom corners of it.
