Hippos, or hippopotami, are a species of villager in the Animal Crossing series. Hippos have large, round noses with protruding nostrils and two visible front teeth.

There are ten hippo villagers so far, five males and five females. There are two normal hippos, two peppy hippos, one snooty hippo, one jock hippo, one lazy hippo, one smug hippo, and two cranky hippos; one of these, Harry, was previously a jock. There are currently no sisterly hippos.

Clara, Lulu, and Rollo, the latter being the only lazy hippo, are the only hippos that have yet to reappear after Doubutsu no Mori e+. Bitty, Hippeux, and Rocco are currently the only hippos present in Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp.
