Gorillas are a species of villager in the Animal Crossing series. They are mainly differentiated from monkeys by their large, tailless bodies, in addition to having separately rendered jaws, a prominent brow, hands shaped like boxing gloves, and human-like ears. In the real world, gorillas are the largest primate and the third-closest DNA match to humans after the two species of chimpanzee.

In Animal Crossing: Wild World, only male gorillas made an appearance. There are twelve gorilla villagers so far, of which eight are male and four are female. Of these, three are cranky, two are jocks, two are lazy, two are snooty, one is peppy, one is sisterly, and one is smug. One of the snooty gorillas, Violet, was a peppy villager until Animal Crossing: City Folk. Currently, no gorillas have a normal personality. Additionally, only Jane, Rilla, and Yodel do not appear in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
