− | Mario Kart 8 is a kart racing game for the Nintendo Wii U released worldwide on May 29-31 2014. It is the eighth main installment in the Mario Kart series (hence the 8 in the title). It received a Nintendo Switch port named mariowiki.

− | Two genders of villagers, based on their default appearances from short were released as downloadable content on April 23, 2015 alongside Isabelle and mariowiki, before purchases were made impossible following the Nintendo eShop closure on March 27, 2023. The downloadable content also included two cups, one including an Animal Crossing course. All of this is included in the base game of Deluxe.

− | A course simply named “Animal Crossing” is a track in Mario Kart 8 and mariowiki. It has the racers drive through a village whose season changes each time the course is played (although holding l, r, zl or zr allows the player to select which season they want). Familiar faces and buildings can be found on the sidelines, and Resetti even makes an appearance as an unforeseen obstacle, popping out of the ground similar to a Monty Mole. The track features newly recorded music more suited to the fast-paced Mario Kart atmosphere.
