Deer are a species of villager in the Animal Crossing series, first introduced in Animal Crossing: New Leaf. Male deer have a pair of antlers atop their heads, while female deer, with the exception of Shino, do not, making them the first villager species with a significant trait difference between male and female, along with the kangaroos. Some deer villagers—like Beau, Bruce, Lopez, and Zell—resemble antelope, a species of mammal which have horns instead of antlers and are more closely related to cows than they are to deer.

There are twelve deer villagers so far, of which six are male and six are female. Of these, two are lazy, two are normal, two are smug, two are big sister, one is jock, one is peppy, one is cranky, and one is snooty.

Deirdre and Lopez are the only deer absent from Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp. Chelsea was initially absent in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, but she reappeared in the 1.9.0 Free Update.
