In Doubutsu no Mori+, this item appears in the homes of Vladimir.

For villagers who have this item placed on the floor in their house, there is a chance that the villager will gift it to the player.

Version differences

The detour signboard in Dòngwù Sēnlín

In Dòngwù Sēnlín, the detour signboard has a different design.

Leftover dummy item

The dummy model used by unused items in Animal Crossing.

In Animal Crossing, the detour signboard is still leftover in the game data as a dummy item, unobtainable without gameplay modification or glitches. It has the unused name "route sign" and uses the dummy model, a white triangle with red Japanese text reading ダミー (damī, dummy). Its name was also translated to other languages in the European version of Animal Crossing, with the name "señal carretera" in Spanish, "panneau routier" in French, "Hinweisschild" in German, and "segnale stradale" in Italian.

The item remains unused in Doubutsu no Mori e+, where, as with all dummy items in that game, its name appears as "かぐ?" (kagu?, furniture?) in the player's inventory. However, when dropped on the ground outside, its name from Doubutsu no Mori+ is shown. The item appears as the same dummy model but cannot be placed down in the player's house if in their inventory.
