The Town Anniversary (conjectural name[nb 1]) is an event in Animal Crossing: New Leaf - Welcome amiibo which celebrates the anniversary of the day the player assumed office as mayor. When the player loads their save file, Isabelle invites them at their doorstep to the event plaza, where the celebration occurs. She gives the player a sapling clock.

Non-mayor players will receive a letter from Isabelle, with an attached sapling clock. Isabelle refers to the mayor by the gender of the recipient of the letter, potentially causing her to incorrectly identify a male mayor as female (and vice versa) if a player's gender differs from that of the mayor's.

In other games[edit]

While the annual Town Anniversary event only occurs in Welcome amiibo, one-year anniversaries are celebrated in Animal Crossing: City Folk and Animal Crossing: New Horizons. In City Folk, Tortimer sends the player a town hall model on the one-year anniversary of them moving into town, and in New Horizons, Nook Inc. sends the player a first-anniversary cake on the one-year anniversary of them moving to the island.
